This was a commission I actually ended up doing a rush job on - the client contacted me well in advance, but we arranged a slightly shorter turnaround time for it. There are a lot of things I'm not totally happy with about the costume, but the fit seems good and the client is happy, so...I guess that's the point!
The jacket was modified from a pattern I have for a matrix-style coat. I adjusted the fit and collar height, and length obviously, and added the overlaps in the front panels. I then lined and faced it, and detailed the collar. The black shoulder detailing is caught into the shoulder seams at the top and sleeves, and all yellow details are appliqued into place.
The belt is jus ta double layer of upholstery vinyl, topstitched around all edges and closes with a trouser slide at the back. Pants are bog-standard mens' slacks.
All photos by me. Please excuse the yukky dummy - I only have the one mens' mannequin, and it's not adjustable - I have to pad it out to each client's dimensions. At some point I will make a cover to hide the tape and crap, but for now...tape and crap! All of it!
